Stay at a Westin twice and get a $100 Amazon gift card
by coach on Mar.09, 2010, under Hotels
Starwood (SPG) just issued a promotion to get a $100 gift card from Amazon. All you need to do is stay twice at a Westin property in the US or Canada between now and May 13, 2010. You will have to checkin from Sunday to Thursday as weekend stays do not count. This shouldn’t be an issue for our readers as we’re mostly business travelers. Here’s the link to register. By the way, you’ll need to register by April 30, 2010. There is also a limit of three Amazon cards per SPG account.
SPG finally posted Rollover Nights from 2009!
by coach on Feb.05, 2010, under Hotels
SPG has finally followed Delta’s lead (see Captain G’s previous post) and posted last year’s rollover nights to this year (2010). As you can see that I am a super loyal SPG member. I have already re-qualified for Starwood Platinum for 2011.
Looks like SPG was kind enough to also roll over hotel stays from 2009 to 2010; in addition to just hotel nights. Rollover stays is a hidden benefit which was not originally advertised.
Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas – SPG No More
by Terminal D on Jan.25, 2010, under Hotels, Vacation
A heads up to anyone with rewards reservations at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, as of last week they are no longer part of the Starwood (SPG) brand and will refuse you at reception. No word yet on whether SPG is providing compensation to those with reservations, but it doesn’t look good.
“The Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino, A Sheraton Resort will be leaving the Starwood system on January 15, 2010. Reservations for dates on or after January 15, 2010, will not be eligible for Starwood Preferred Guest membership benefits, award redemption or accrual.” – SPG
Perhaps it’s the right time for SPG to step it up and broker a deal with the Bellagio!
