Clear is Now Opaque

Today I received this email from Clear:
At 11:00 p.m. PST today, Clear will cease operations. Clear’s parent company, Verified Identity Pass, Inc. has been unable to negotiate an agreement with its senior creditor to continue operations.
After today, Clear lanes will be unavailable.

Good riddance. Clear was practically useless. See Captain G’s post on this. The best thing I got out of Clear was a free Gold membership to Regus, and that in itself isn’t all that great. Good thing I didn’t pay for my Clear membership.
Free Regus Gold membership

As a member of (Fly) Clear, I given free Gold membership to Regus – the virtual office company. As a Regus Gold member, you can access to Regus location’s business lounges and get complimentary Internet access. Gold membership is generally $300 per year.
Here’s the link to register and get your free Gold membership. Enter “CLEAR” as the Activation Code.
The registration process is pretty painless. Just fill in some personal information and the gold card will be mailed to you in a few weeks. We’ll be visiting a few Regus locations and will provide some reviews in the near future.
